Choco-smoothie with cacao and hemp seed oil


Raw cacao powder is the purest form of chocolate processed from the cultivation of the amazing Cacao Tree's cacao pods.  Cacao powder also has 20x the antioxidant power of blueberries.  The pods are full of beans which then get processed in varying ways. Cocoa powder is made similarly to cacao powder, but the production of cocoa powder uses a high temperature refinement process that reduces some nutritional benefits. Kept in the fridge, cold-pressed hemp seed oil has been dubbed the "most perfectly balanced oil" as it has a perfect ratio of Omega-6 and Omega-3's, contains about 80% polyunsaturated fat, and helps to improve cholesterol levels in our blood.  Gamma-linolenic acid or GLA is also present which helps to reduce inflammation in the body.  Hemp seeds also pack a powerful punch of protein with 3 Tbsp's delivering about 10 grams of protein.  I decided to use hemp seed oil in this choco-smoothie to temper the distinctive nuttiness that raw hemp seeds seem to add.

1/2 banana
1/3 cup or a few slices of mango
3/4 cup of So Delicious chocolate cashew milk
1 Tbsp of raw organic cacao powder
1 Tbsp almond butter
1 Tbsp organic hemp seed oil
2 tsp agave
1 scoop of Epic's Vanilla Lucuma Powder  *product review coming soon!
4-6 ice cubes
